Matariki

WALT: Increase our knowledge by reading a wide range of texts (Matariki slides) 

for this week we have being doing matariki slides and we had to do this true and false
and it was fun but my favrite part is when we read about matariki

Fractions also known as part whole thinking

WALT: Understand that Part whole thinking means we break an object or group of objects into smaller parts.

This week we were learning about part-whole thinking  (fractions). I have been learning to draw half of.. a circle, triangle, square, and rectangle.
 I have also learned that I need to start working out the fractions properly e.g 1/4 of 20 Jellybeans = __.

Dinosaurs

 WALT: Increase our knowledge by reading a wide range of texts (Article a day - Book of Knowledge)

My task was to read an article about Dinosaurs from Readworks and to write about what I learned.  

I have learned that Hundreds of millions of years ago, ancient reptiles called Dinosaurs walked the earth. I also learned that another kind of ancient reptile, a cousin of the dinosaurs, also shared the planet. They didn’t walk the earth, though… they flew its skies! These prehistoric flying reptiles were Pterosaurs.

WALT: Write simple and compound sentences

My task for writing this week was to do the tasks on this Literacy slide deck.  I learned to write simple and compound sentences.  My next steps are to finish all the tasks.
